We were pretty weak and feeble walking round Bridgnorth yesterday, but I thought we would be over the worst by now. We both woke up feeling awful this morning.
On a positive note, we couldn’t have picked a better week to be ill. It was pouring this morning and howling this afternoon. I overuse that phrase, but I really did think we would loose a couple of roof tiles today. More of the same to come…

We should have been going up the hill to have a go on the sail plane simulator at the Midland Gliding Club, but both Geoff and I seem to be coming down with a cold. This meant we did something we only do a couple of times a year… pretty much nothing. People did fly today, first on hang gliders and later on on paragliders, but we just didn’t have the energy or inclination.

Back to poor weather… Windy and a bit rainy. We thought about going to archery in the middle of the day, but only got as far as the front door. It was a bit cold, and grey and miserable and we’re wimps. Back to the warmth of the office and lots of work.

I’m only still writing this blog to amuse our friends in Spain with the knowledge that we’re crazy enough to stay in this rain and wind infested country. Even the met office have finally admitted that it isn’t BBQ summer after all. Wow. Better late than never.
We had a long meeting about the conference today which was very productive and then we went to play squash. It was very satisfying to be able to run around and bash things.
British Clubs Challenge final at the Mynd has been cancelled for this weekend due to bad weather. Fingers crossed for the weekend after.

Geoff writes: rubbish weather. We worked, on online conference stuff mostly. Some Long Mynd Soaring Club stuff, including adding more information to the web site, and recording another podcast with Melise Harland (which will be released after it’s been edited, probably not for a few days, depending on the weather and other work).

Wind, rain… We were hoping to go and do some archery today, but the weather was so bad we didn’t bother.
I tried to do some work today, but I am constantly being distracted by the X-Alps and can’t seem to stop having a peek at the athlete’s diaries. Tom wasn’t disqualified, so that was a relief and Aidan was fourth at one point today. Chrigel Maurer is storming ahead and it’s impressive to watch.
