Geoff writes: as forecast, cloud and light rain. Possibly not flyable in Lakes either, seemed to be wet there too.

So a less than stunning day….

We had a late night late night and needed the extra few hours sleep, but had John coming round at 10am, so we reluctantly got up and saw to some DIY. We’re a bit listless at the moment. I’m not exactly inspired to do any work (although I have some) and the weather is putting a bit of a downer on the week, so I decided to cheer myself up with a bonfire. I managed to get nearly all the garden rubbish burned when the heavens opened and I had to try to keep the already dry stuff out of the rain. Getting the remainder burned turned into a bit of a game…

Weather is now looking poor for the rest of the week. We may get to fly paragliders on Wednesday, but it looks more likely that Geoff will fly the hang glider. If it doesn’t rain…

The forecast is for windy, occasionally damp weather so I got the lawn mown while I had the chance and then we spent the day doing what you do when you’ve come back from a trip away… laundry, post, jobs, etc. We were going to go to archery, but it rained and it was far too windy anyway.

Another hot, sunny and hazy day. We decided not to go to the Malverns, but stay here and only go out if some cumulus developed. Neither of us fancied another aimless sit around in nil wind on Corndon again, so we got on with the gardening. With an eye on the sky all the time, the high cloud just got closer and closer and although it was still blue over the Mynd, even the sail planes were making it look like hard work/a lottery. The forecast fair weather cloud never did materialise, but our garden looks all the better for it!

With temperatures around 24C today, they are saying we are having August weather in April. I just hope that doesn’t mean we get December weather in August!

Another grey, gloomy day, although Graeme did fly at Elan Valley. We have various bits of work to do (like tying up loose ends for the LMSC and Ager Women’s Open stuff) so we got on with that. The plan was to go to archery in the afternoon, but having done a few minutes of gardening, I decided it was too cold! We’re having some trouble acclimatising to the temperatures here. Everyone tells us it’s positively balmy in comparison to the winter, but I’ve been in three to four layers every day – and that’s when I’m inside the house!

Cloudy this morning and very windy. It cleared up later and became warm and sunny. We did jobs… unpacking, opening mail, sorting out car insurance, mobile phones, twitter feed, etc. All the boring stuff you have to do when you’ve been away for six months.

The Twitter feed for information on flying conditions and comps has now been switched on again. If you have a Twitter account, then some mobile companies will allow you to receive these notifications via SMS. Follow it on http://twitter.com/#!/judithmole
