These webcasts cover various aspects of flying. They come in three versions – one for viewing online, and two for download for playing on mobile devices. They all use Flash, for speed of playing. All use audio as well as visuals, so make sure your speakers or headset are connected, and the volume turned up. Each webcast has player controls, allowing you to stop, start, pause, etc.

Note that some slides in the mobile versions may be difficult to read, because of size, and may need to be zoomed. Let us know if there are any problems with the mobile versions (geoffm@directlearn.co.uk)

Weather – a detailed look at one day with David Thomson of Border Crossings. Rather than looking at the weather on the morning of a good day, David starts to look at the forecast a few days in advance in order to get a bigger picture of what is happening. This allows him to predict not just the conditions on the day, but timings, etc. He uses the forecast for Sunday, 11th July 2010 as an example of how he does his weather forecasting. 24 minutes.
